The deadline for the first of four 2013 nursing scholarships, a new program launched by myCNAjobs, is fast approaching with an application closing date of December 31, 2012. The CNA scholarship program offers one recipient a $250 award, which is matched by select CNA schools across the country.  

To apply, applicants must submit a short essay, outlining why they want to become a caregiver and pursue a nursing career.

“Our selection committee is meeting the first week of January to select the recipient of the first scholarship, following a formal announcement of the winner by January 15,” says Chelsea Cramer, Recruitment Squad Manager of myCNAjobs, a growing caregiver job community.

“Applications are still open and will be accepted until midnight on December 31. Submissions received after this deadline will be considered for our next scholarship award in March,” adds Cramer.

The CNA scholarship program deadlines are as follows:

• December 31, 2012
• Febraury 28, 2013
• May 31, 2013
• September 30, 2013

The scholarship monies can be used towards any accredited CNA program in the country if enrolled within 60 days of the scholarship award date.   

“We’re thrilled to partner with CNA schools across the country to help up-and-coming nursing professionals receive the training they need to care for our aging population,” adds Cramer.
