myCNAjobs, a growing caregiver career network and recruiting vehicle, is pleased to announce the launch of a series of nursing scholarships for professional caregivers and up-and-coming nursing professionals to attend Certified Nursing Assistant School.

Scholarship enrollment opened Monday for the first of a series of multiple $250.00 scholarships to be awarded in 2013.  

Within the next 35 years, over 20 percent of the U.S. population will be over the age of 65. Although professional caregiving careers are growing at a tremendous rate, nursing school enrollment isn’t growing fast enough to meet projected demand, according to the American Association of College and Nursing.

"This CNA scholarship program gives us another opportunity to give back to our caregiver network and help up-and-coming professionals reach their full potential while hopefully encouraging new recruits into the workforce," says Brandi Kurtyka, Chief Marketing Officer of myCNAjobs.

To apply for the scholarship, applicants must become part of the free myCNAjobs career community and submit a 200-400 word essay highlighting motivations for becoming a caregiver.

The CNA scholarship deadlines are as follows:

• January 2013 CNA Scholarship – submission due December 31
• March 2013 CNA Scholarship – submission due February 28
• June 2013 CNA Scholarship – submission due May 31
• October 2013 CNA Scholarship – submission due September 30

The scholarship can be used at any accredited CNA school nationwide and applicants must plan to enroll within 60-days from the respective submission due date.

“This scholarship is about taking a longer-term view for us and encouraging caregivers who are really passionate about caring for others to grow their career and learn the ropes of caregiving,” adds Kurtyka.

The program announcement follows other recent efforts by myCNAjobs to improve accessibility to free and low-cost resources to caregivers - an underserved market.
